JOE KIM
Joe left home in middle school and moved in with his baseball coach, while working the summers on a Minnesota farm, until graduating from an international school in Japan. Summa Cum Laude in economics from Duke University. After working as an investment banker in New York and a senior executive at a global financial institution, Joe founded an investment company in Tokyo. Three years later, Joe sold the company to a major financial institution and retired from business at age 34.
Now, Joe actively supports inclusive initiatives globally as a donor, volunteer, and advocate in hopes to help advance happiness for everyone.
Actions to Date:
✅Mentor for students from underserved communities
1-on-1 support for US college applications, career guidance, and life coaching.
✅Licensed foster parent
Welcoming children into our home and providing care/stability while their biological parents prepare to safely reunite.
✅US government-approved refugee sponsor
Welcoming into our home and supporting a Ukrainian guest displaced by war.
✅Job Coach at a homeless shelter
Interview coaching, resume building, and employment guidance in the US.
✅Support improved living conditions for children
Initiatives in Ethiopia, Malawi, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, DRCongo, and Eswatini.
✅Support humanitarian needs through Doctors Without Borders.
✅Support for Kodomo-Shokudo
Free meals and a place of connection for children/adults from strained backgrounds in Japan.
✅Adopt abandoned cats from the streets and provide lifelong, at-home care.
✅Reduce animal suffering by switching to a vegetarian diet.
✅Various other initiatives to resolve discrimination, violence, poverty, and educational inequity.

家庭の事情で実親と暮らせない子どもたちを自宅へ迎え入れ、再び家庭環境が整うまで、共に暮らしながら成長を支える
✅アメリカ政府の認可を得た難民支援者
戦争により家を追われたウクライナ難民を自宅へ迎え入れ、共に暮らしながらサポートする
✅ホームレスになっている人たちのジョブコーチ
アメリカのシェルターにて、面接指導・履歴書作成などの就職サポート
✅子どもたちの生活環境の改善
エチオピア・マラウイ・バングラデシュ・カンボジア・スリランカ・ミャンマー・コンゴ・エスワティニにおける支援
✅「国境なき医師団」を通じた人道支援
✅日本の子ども食堂への支援
子どもや必要としている人たちへ食事・居場所・つながりを提供
✅保護が必要な路上生活のネコたちを自宅へ迎え入れ、生涯にわたり共に暮らす
